JIM JACOBSEN: The Jones Act applies when a person who works on the water is hurt at work. The Jones Act can apply to anybody that works at sea. It certainly always applies to fishermen, seamen on tugboats and blue water ships, people who work on ferry boats. But it can also apply to other folks, like marine construction workers, pile barks [phonetic], and hardhat drivers.
